You'll read it here first! So, of course there was a flurry of e-mails today about the condition of 1551 Hillside Avenue N., and the hideous refrigerator sitting on the front porch. Well, I learned this evening that city takes abandoned refrigerators, with the doors still attached, very seriously. In response to the 311 report, a city inspector came to the property. I am told by one who witnessed the event that it was around mid-afternoon. Once the inspector completed her report, she tipped the refrigerator over on its side so that children would not be able to open the doors and...ahhh...get trapped inside it, suffocate, and die.
I'm just wondering if she yelled "Timber" when the pushed the thing over...or was more like tipping the cow???
So in other words, you waited for a city inspector to come along and do this common-sense thing instead of just doing it yourselves?
ReplyDeleteNo, I didn't wait and the inspector didn't just happen to "come along." I reported the violation, and followed it up with e-mails to specific individuals to advocate for it happen. As a result, the inspector visited the property, and did her job... that is what was suppose to happen. HH, this is good thing, not an "ah ha" moment.
ReplyDeleteWhen you push over an appliance, you yell SCRAP METAL.
